Severina Vu?kovi? was born on April 21, 1972. She is a pop singer in Croatia. Her stage name is simply Severina.

She won many festival-awards and her albums achieved high sales. Some of the better known songs have included Kad si sam, Dalmatinka, Djevojka sa sela, Ja samo pjevam, Paloma Nera, Virujem u te, Ante, Adio ljube.

In 2004, she became infamous for a porn videotape leaked on the Internet showing her having sex with Milan Lu?i?, a Herzegovina business tycoon who was at a time a married man and father of three children. This was devastating to her public image, as she was a symbol for religious modesty, promoting abstinence in many of her public appearances. The video features Vu?kovi? and Lu?i? having sex in a variety of positions, Vu?kovi? performing fellatio on Lu?i? several times, Lu?i? pouring champagne on Vu?kovi?'s breasts, and Vu?kovi? recieving a facial. The tape, supposedly private, was released on the peer-to-peer networks and soon captured the attention of a Croatian web portal Index.hr, run by Matija Babi?. The web portal then published an article about it, featuring several screenshots from the video. After that, the news spread into local mass media and the video quickly became the most downloaded item in the country at the time. Amidst the pornographic scandal, Severina decided to sue the portal for copyright infringement as well as invasion of privacy, but the case was subsequently dismissed by the district court in Zagreb.
