Who is Tia Carrere?

Tia Carrere was born Althea Rae Duhinio Janairo on the 2nd of January, 1967, in Honolulu, Hawaii. As a child, Carrere desired to be a singer. She went on Star Search in 1985, and was eliminated, but was cast from it in Zombie Nightmare, a B grade failure. Carrere moved to Los Angeles, worked as a model, and eventually landed a role on General Hospital as Jade Soong Chung from 1985 to 1987. In 1992, she won the role of Cassandra, Mike Myers’ love interest in Wayne’s World. She also played the role in the sequel Wayne’s World 2. Carrere actually turned down a role in Baywatch just to audition for Wayne’s World. She performed all her own songs in the films. In 1992 Carrere married Elie Samaha. She has since appeared in True Lies with Arnold Schwarzenegger, High School High, and found further fame with Sydney Fox in television series Relic Hunter. Relic Hunter was cancelled after three seasons. Carrere then appeared on Dancing with the Stars, but often fell over and was eliminated to come sixth. Carrere posed nude for Playbay in January 2003. She is soon to be seen in a recurring role on Curb Your Enthusiasm.
