Who is Poppy Montgomery?

Poppy Montgomery has a rather cute birth name, Poppy Petal Emma Elizabeth Deveraux Donahue. Her sisters are all flowers as well, Rosie Thorn, Daisy Yellow, Lily Belle and Marigold Sun and her brother is named Jethro Tull, after the musician. Poppy was born in Sydney, Australia on June 19, 1972. Montgomery took her mother’s maiden name for her stage name and left Australia at the age of 16, travelling with her boyfriend at the time. Later, when they broke up, she headed for Hollywood to make good on her dream of becoming a movie star. She got her start on the television Silk Stockings in 1994 and moved on to film Tammy and the T-Rex. The actress has also appeared in television programs such as Party of Five, NYPD Blue, and the Beat. She had a year long part on the series Relativity as well. Her early movies include Devil in a Blue Dress, Stories from the Edge, Peacock Blues, and The Space Between Us. More recently, she did Between and Murder in the Hamptons, both in 2005. Her current role as Detective Samantha Spade on Without a Trace has made her far more famous than any of her movies did. Montgomery has worked on Without a Trace since 2002.
