Who is Phaedra Hoste?

Phaedra Hoste was born on August 28, 1971 in Belgium. As a young girl, she took dance lessons, which she later credited with giving her the gracefulness needed to be a top model. Her big break came when she was discovered at the age of seventeen by a modeling agent. She left Belgium and went to live in Paris, France, where she could pursue her career as a model. While in France, Hoste did several runway shows and many print ads, finding herself traveling around Europe for the assorted jobs that she took on. In 1996, she returned to Belgium to live with her ailing mother and care for her. Hoste decided to try her hand at acting and began to audition for roles in local television shows. She landed a part in the Dutch television series, Het Swingpaleis. Over the next few years, the young model/actress found more jobs in Dutch-language shows and films, but she made the move to English in 2000, with Team Spirit, another television series. Her other small screen appearances include Mediamadammen, Recht op recht, Debbie and Nancy Laid Knight and the television series As Good As It Gets, which she is hosting.
