Peta Wilson was born on November 18, 1970 in Sydney, Australia. When she was still quite small, Peta moved to Papua New Guinea with her parents and brother. To entertain themselves in a world without television, Peta and her brother would put on shows for her parents. With her father in the military, the family moved frequently and Peta had to learn to adapt quickly to new situations. She was sent to deportment classes as a teen where she was discovered by a modelling agent. She worked as a model for some time in Australia and Europe, but then decided to try her hand at acting and headed for Los Angeles. She quickly began to land small parts in indie films like One of Our Own. Just as she was about to head for New York in 1996, to study more drama, she was called up for an audition which she won… for the lead role in La Femme Nikita, a Canadian television series. She was on the show until it ended in 2001. She later did a television mini-series, It?s a Girl Thing and has appeared in various movies, including The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Joe and Max, and Superman Returns. Her most recent project was Gardens of the Night in 2007.
