Penelope Ann Miller was born January 13, 1964 in Los Angeles, California. She is often credited as simply Penelope Miller. After graduating from high school, she moved to New York to study drama. Her first movie role was in Adventures in Babysitting, a wildly adventurous teen flick, in 1987. She still liked theatre, though and took a part in Our Town the following year, which won her a Tony award. During the same time period, she was cast in a small part for Miami Vice, a hit television series at the time. She has worked with Robert DeNiro and Robin Williams in Awakenings, as well as Arnold Schwartzenegger in Kindergarten Cop, and has been cast in a number of fairly significant films such as Relic, Miles from Home and Chaplin. In 2002, Penelope appeared in Dead in a Heartbeat and the two part television series, A Nero Wolfe Mystery. She has also been in the television series, Vanished and Desperate Housewives (where she played Fran) and the movie Funny Money. Her most recent projects include the horror film, The Messengers, as well as Blonde Ambition, released in 2007. Her film, Saving Grace is currently in post-production and will be released in 2008.
