Patsy Kensit has been acting since she was very small. Born in Hounslow, Middlesex, England, on March 4, 1968, she got started in acting at the tender age of four, in a television ad for frozen peas. She was also cast in the movie For the Love of Ada at the same age and two years later, the little girl took a role alongside Mia Farrow in the film, The Great Gatsby. She also appeared in a variety of children?s television shows during her growing up years. In 1985, she branched out into music, singing with Eighth Wonder, a band that appeared on Top of the Pops, while Kensit was still pursuing her acting career, filming Silas Marner with Ben Kingsley, while her band made it big. In 1986, she landed a role in Absolute Beginners. Eighth Wonder began to lose their fame and their second album didn?t sell well, but the song I?m Not Scared was later used in the soundtrack for Lethal Weapon 2, where she acted opposite Mel Gibson, in 1989. She had marital problems shortly after this and left acting to focus on her relationship with her husband Jim Kerr, a singer with Simple Minds. After the divorce, she resumed her acting career, taking on movies like The One and Only, and made-for-television movies such as Emmerdale, Bo Selecta and Holby City.
