Ornella Muti was born Francesca Romana Rivelli in Rome, Italy on March 9, 1955. As a young teen Muti did some modelling for extra cash and was quite good at it. But her real dream was to become an actress and in 1970, she took her first role in the Italian film La Moglie piu bella (The Most Beautiful Wife). She went on to do an average of about a movie per year for several years, with foreign films like Summer Affair, Sun on the Skin, The Nuns of Saint Archangel, and The Last Woman. She was actually voted the Most Beautiful Woman in the World in 1994 and appeared in a pasta commercial in France for Giovanni Panzani pasta. Though many of her movies have been in Italian, she has also appeared in several English-language movies, including Flash Gordon in the UK in 1980 and Oscar, an American film, in 1991. Other English-language movies that Muti has appeared in include Once Upon a Crime, Somewhere in the City, Last Run, The Count of Monte Cristo, and Hotel. In 2004, the Italian actress appeared in a trilogy, On the Run, An Amazing Couple and After the Life.
