Nathalie Dechy was born on the 21st February 1979 in Les Abymes, Guadeloupe. She is a French professional tennis player. She is a three-time doubles Grand Slam champion, winning the 2006 US Open ladies title with Vera Zvonareva, the 2007 mixed doubles title with Andy Ram and the 2007 US Open ladies title with Dinara Safina, who she beat in the 2006 final with Vera Zvonareva. Her biggest singles achievement is reaching the semifinals of the 2005 Australian Open, where she was just two points away from the final, before eventually losing to Lindsay Davenport. 2007 was her worst year as a singles player but her best as a doubles player, she finished the year ranked sixty, in double she was ranked thirteen. She is currently without a coach. She is a baseliner whose favorite surface is hard, her favorite shot is the overhead. Her career prize money to date is 3.7 million dollars, US.
