Michelle Pfeiffer was born on the 29th April 1958 in Santa Anna, California. She is a three-time Academy Award nominated and internationally known actress. She has starred in films such as Ladyhawk, The Russia House, Scarface, The Fabulous Baker Boys, Batman Returns, What Lies Beneath, Hairspray, Stardust and Grease 2. Her career began in the 1980 movie, Hollywood Knights, a "bomb" but she had been "seen" and was cast in Grease 2 in 1982. Her next role was in the 1983 box office smash Scarface opposite Al Pacino. In 1985 came Ladyhawk, another box office failure but she won much critical acclaim from the film. Then came The Witches of Eastwick and Married to the Mob (1986 & 1987), both box office successes. Also released in 1987 was Tequila Sunrise, and then The Fabulous Baker Boys in 1989, she was now a superstar and "money in the bank". When she was approached to make The Russia House in 1990 she was unsure, the role called for a dowdy, desperate and sad woman, easily manipulated by the main character, Sean Connery, he asked her to do it. She made the role her own, the stunning beautiful Hollywood star played a Russian peasant with total believability, the scene on the tower is legendary amongst film critics.
