Who is Meg Ryan?

Meg Ryan was born November 19th, 1961 in Fairfield, Connecticut. The Hollywood actress achieved A list status in romantic comedies that put her and Julia Roberts in contention with only each other as Americas Sweetheart. Her mega-star status started with the minor but integral role of the wife of Goose in Top Gun, the character accidentally killed in flight. Ryans next leading lady parts came in Steven Spielbergs Inner Space (1987) a movie which unfortunately did not achieve enough box office for the sequel its ending indicated was on the way, but did introduce Ryan to future husband and father of her first child, Dennis Quaid. One leading role after another followed including The Presidio (1988), smash hit romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally (1989), Oliver Stones movie the Doors (1991), Prelude to a Kiss (1992) and another of her hit romantic comedies, Sleepless in Seattle which co-starred Tom Hanks for their 2nd of 3 on screen pairings. Ryan has been nominated for Golden Globes in When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless, and You’ve Got Mail which show the type of movies for which shes really been appreciated. However, Ryans work as a tough female chopper commander who may or may not deserve a Medal of Honor in Courage Under Fire (1996) was also critically acclaimed and showed her actual range. Ryan is currently divorced from Quaid, and has adopted a second child.
