Who is Mary Kate Olsen?

Mary-Kate Olsen was born in Sherman Oakes, California on June 13th, 1986, the same day as her fraternal (but almost identical in appearance) twin sister Ashley Olsen. The sisters are among the worlds best known child stars for their role on sitcom Full House as well as being civilizations first, youngest, and only twin self-made, mini millionaire moguls. The Olsens were hired to share the role of Michelle Tanner at 6 months old, beginning their appearances at only 9 months old trading off camera time in order to comply with child—well, in this case infant— labor laws. The infant t.v. stars later formed a company called Dualstar with the help of Robert Thone which distributed their own straight-to-video productions for tweens. The videos sold enormously well and led to much merchandizing from perfume to dolls bearing their name and likenesses. After Full House ended, the Olsens tried to enter the big budget film market in a movie called New York Minute (2004) but it was so poorly received that they have altered their paths. The Olsens maintain ownership of Dualstar which has signed a boy twin act to fill their niche, they sell many fashion related items on their website and department stores like Neiman Marcus, and they have begun to act separately. Mary-Kate followed a news making stint at rehab to recover from anorexia nervosa by returning to work in projects like her recent 7 episodes of Weeds (2007).
