Marla Sokoloff was born December 19th, 1980 in San Francisco, California. She started acting at age 12, and cut her teeth early in series t.v. starting with an episode of Boy Meets World (1993), and Step by Step (1994) until she and young audiences really found each other with her role as Gia Mahan on Full House (1993-1995). She was the bad girl best friend to daughter Stephanie later in Full Houses run who talked Stephanie into trouble like going joyriding and hanging out with boys. Afterward, Sokoloff did episodes of Home Improvement and 3rd Rock From the Sun until another important 7 episode stint on Party of Five. Her first long run was as Lucy Hatcher on The Practice, one of David E Kelleys popular legal shows. She appeared in 108 episodes from 1998-2004 and was nominated during that time for 3 Screen Actors Guild Awards as part of the ensemble cast. Sokoloffs movies have been varied, she appeared in the unforgettably ridiculous Dude, Wheres My Car? with Ashton Kutcher, yet shes also shown up in indie flick The Climb with Oscar winner John Hurt. Recently, Sokoloffs been on 2 episodes of Desperate Housewives as the nanny. Shes also a talented singer who released her first CD, Grateful, in 2006.
