Marisa Miller was born August 6th, 1978 in Santa Cruz, California. The athletic, 5 foot 8 inch (1.73m) model has ambitions to become a sportscaster some day, but right now surfing on the California beach led to being discovered by famous fashion photographer, Mario Testino, who put her on the map as a swimsuit/ lingerie model. Miller currently works for top magazines and ad campaign like Victorias Secret, rather than runway work. Whether or not Miller ever gets into sports broadcasting, shes already achieved a happy ending. She was working as a nude model in The Perfect Ten—normally a dead end for fashion— but her lucky day at the beach placed her with 3 modeling agencies and has seen her become a welcome addition to every issue of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue from 2002 to present. Shes now on covers of Shape (2000, 2002, 2004) Self (2002), Esquire 2005 and even Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan. So far the quintessential California covergirl has been on magazines in the US, UK, Germany, Italy, Spain and Russia. One of her most recognizable advertising campaigns was for Victorias Secret including a spot co-featuring Heidi Klum, but shes also played up her fit, ideal feminine physique in J. Crew and Tommy Hilfinger ads as well as work for Nordstom.
