Maria Ford was born in 1966 in Pikes Peak, Colorado. She is a low budget, B movie actress and exotic dancer who has become known not only appearing in over 30 of these horror, alien, or erotic titles, but also 2 documentaries on the subject. In 1998 she appeared in Some Nudity Required and the Dark Side of Hollywood as a cautionary tale. Writer-director-producer Odette Springer and co-writer/director Johanna Demetrakas (on Some Nudity Required) attempted to expose how the industry works, and some of the leading figures behind the scenes along with many of the contemporary in-front-of-the-camera regulars. While the featured B movie producers and directors described their work as legitimate, for actresses like Ford, Lisa Boyle, and Julie Strain the overall story was different. The meta-tale was about how stagestruck girls come to Hollywood with high hopes and end up being exploited. Some fans found Fords interviews the most sympathetic and compelling. Bolstering her points about typecasting, her appearances in big budget movies and television have largely been in the same mold. She was in the Addams Family Reunion (1998) as a Beautiful Lounger, and the Drew Carrey Show as Crystal/Nancy the Stripper.
