Marcia Cross was born on March 25th, 1962 in Marlborough, Massachusetts. Shes achieved enormous exposure on 2 t.v. shows, Melrose Place as murderous and insane Dr. Kimberley Shaw and Bree Van De Kamp on Desperate Housewives—the character based on writer Marc Cherrys real life mother with one hopes, much exaggeration. After Julliard trained Cross achieved success on Melrose Place (115 episodes from 1992-1997) she had what she considered a long career drought. Although she was doing regular episodic work, it was not the success she had achieved earlier. Cross decided to go into clinical psychiatry professionally—probably entertainingly ironic to fans given the fact Cross has played 2 of the most memorable night time soap women with nightmarish psychiatric profiles. She was so determined that she earned a Masters Degree in Psychology from Antioch University in LA. However, fate, as they say, had other plans. Crosses studies have probably made her character Bree all the more layered so lately she has had to settle for a role that has already provided her 12 acting award nominations including an Emmy and 3 Golden Globe nominations. Cross became a deliriously happy housewife in 2006 and doubled or tripled her joy by giving birth to twins at age 45.
