Majandra Delfino was born February 20th, 1981 in Caracas, Venezuela. The singer-actress has been on one reasonably high profile U.S. television series—Roswell (1999-2002, 60 episodes) and released three albums. Her music has sometimes been described in melancholy terms, as Downtempo, Dark Cabaret, and Triphop— electronic music that does not have to be downbeat, necessarily, but does have a lot of prominence on the beats with melodies that have a long wavelike function if one were to chart their protracted and moody emotional turns. In fact, Delfinos voice could be as clear as a spoon hitting a champagne glass once, and then allowed to carry, if she wanted. She has a well controlled vibrato, lovely tonal purity and perfect pitch. Rather than longer, moodier stretches shes varies her tones a lot. She has a youthful, mincing kind of emotion that shows depth but tends toward the light and interesting rather than the dark and tortured, confused, angst-ridden or even bluesy. She is indeed, a delightful chanteuse. So far the clever Delfino has released three albums on her own label or website: The Sicks (2001), Le Prince Bleu D’Arthelius (2003), and Tarte (2007).
