Lujan Fernandez was born in 1979 in Argentina. The five foot ten inch (1.78m) tall Latina Supermodel has one of those fabulous discovery stories like the publisher of the Hollywood reporter stepping into Schwabs Drugstore and finding a sixteen year old Lana Turner inside, ready for her close up and future as her generations favorite Sweater Girl and Academy award nominated actress. Fernandezs story much more appropriately, takes place on a beach. As a 14 year old she was tanning herself on the sands of Uruguay when a modelling scout spotted her and convinced Fernandez her calling was in front of the lens. The scout was right, and Fernandez has gone on to become represented by four modelling agencies around the world getting covers of French, German and U.S. Vogue, Harpers Bazaar (en espanol), and the Italian magazine Photo. Considering her discovery story one would expect that Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Editions would have been an important part of her career trajectory, as indeed they have with appearances in three consecutive editions starting in 1999. Shes done advertising campaigns for everyone from Victorias Secret, Perry Ellis, to Chloe, and fashion runway work for Ralph Lauren and BCBG. Fernandez always likes to remind the world that she is more than an incredible face and beautiful body; shes a fan of poets from Dylan Thomas to Pablo Neruda.
