Lisa Faulkner is an English actress born on January 2nd, 1973. Faulkner has become known for characters who have come to macabre ends, one so gruesome that there was a public outcry from viewers. Like fellow Brit James Blunt, the pretty blonde had a significant moment in Londons Tube (subway) that ended up beginning her show business career. In Faulkners case, she was a 16 year old playing her banjo when spotted by a modelling scout who helped turn her into a successful teen model. Her first onscreen credit came from playing a minor character in the 1992 movie L’Amant. Since then shes primarily worked in television, with varied work but noticeable trends of playing characters in the medical profession and being part of plots with nasty murders. Her part in British soap opera Holby City started both trends when she played Dr. Merrick, stabbed to death at home by the father of a patient who died under her watch. Her infamous death scene occurred the next year, 2002, in a highly regarded U.K. t.v. series called Spooks. Her characters conclusion came when her colleague was forced to watch her hand and finally her face shoved into the boiling oil of a chip fryer, after which deadly insult was added to injury when she was finished off with a gun. The network received numerous letters of complaint following this unsettling episode.
