Linda Fiorentino was born March 9th, 1958 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Italian American actress is best known for exuding an independent and almost street tough, yet impossible to ignore, smoldering onscreen sexuality. Her greatest successes were in the 1980s and 1994. She was the desirable but hardboiled Carla who moves in with the family of wannabe high school wrestler Louden Swain (Matthew Modine) in the 1985 coming of age flick Vision Quest. The movie was reasonably well received, but it achieved more impact than it would have otherwise because Madonna performed the song Crazy for You on the soundtrack when her career was gaining notice even by Time Magazine. The Madonna video featured all the significant aspects of the movie and thereby Vision Quest became part of indelible pop culture imagery. Fiorentinos role as Sasha in Gotcha! (1985) opposite another dweebie guy who had it bad for her, this time played by Anthony Edwards, was another 80s memory because of its constant repeat play on the then relatively new wide distribution of cable networks like HBO. By far, Fiorentinos most successful role was 1994s neo film noir The Last Seduction in which she played an unforgettable sociopathic femme fatale who leads her husband and one-night stand to their doom.
