Leelee Sobieski was born Liliane Rudabet Gloria Elsveta Sobieski on the 10th June 1983 in New York City, New York. She is an actress. Leelee rose to fame in her mid-teens with her appearance in the movie Deep Impact in 1998 and went on to play a modern Lolita in Eyes Wide Shut in 1998 (they held the release back a year). She was not even fifteen when her nymphet-like scenes were shot. The title role in the TV movie Joan of Arc (1999) earned her an Emmy nomination and a Golden Globe nomination and a second nomination followed her portrayal of Tosia Altman in the TV movie Uprising in 2001. Her next few movies were filmed in France, roles she got because of her fluency in the language. Her list of other movies since returning to the US is long but not impressive. One of her upcoming film roles (that is supposed to be her breakthrough role) is alongside Al Pacino in 88 Minutes. She is widely ridiculed for a terrible poem she wrote about 9/11. The actress read the poem - entitled "This Day and all the Rest" - on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The audio of this performance is frequently played to derisive laughter on The Howard Stern Show. She is supposed to have an uncanny resemblance to Helen Hunt and this has been used to poke fun at her on a few occasions.
