Kristy Hinze was born in Sydney, Australia sometime in 1980. She is the granddaughter of legendary Australian politician Russ Hinze. Her family moved to a cattle station in outback Queensland when she was very young. She began her international modelling career at the age of fourteen, Kristy was contracted to appear in the Australian edition of Vogue. Not only was she the youngest person to ever achieve this, she was also the first Australian native. She was contracted to the most prestigious agency in Australia, Vivien's at the time. They helped her career develop towards Supermodel status. In 1999 she made the decision to move to New York, her first assignment in the Big Apple was a stunning coup, she was asked to appear in the 2000 edition of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. Next she was approached by Hollywood, one agent saying, "she has the look fantasies are made of". She made her movie debut in Boys and Girls, released in 2001. She then made appearances in two more minor movie roles but then was offered the contract from Victoria's Secret. Next came her first cover, British Cosmopolitan in 2002. She is still on top as a model and spends her life between her New York house and her home in Noosa in Australia, saying always, that "Australia is home, I just work everywhere else".
