Kerry Fox was born on the 30th July 1966 in Wellington, New Zealand. She is an actress. She came to prominence playing author Janet Frame in the movie An Angel at My Table (1990), directed by Jane Campion for which she won a Best Actress award from the New Zealand Film and Television Awards. She has since built a truly international career but only in independent films and television. She received praise and a nomination for the Australian Film Institute Awards for her leading role in Country Life in 1994. She also starred in Danny Boyle's breakout British hit Shallow Grave with Ewan McGregor in 1994. She was also nominated for the Canadian Academy Award (Genie Award) for her supporting role in The Hanging Garden in 1997. In 2001 she won the Silver Bear for 'best actress' for her role as Claire in Intimacy at the Berlin Film Festival. Her performance included a graphic sexual act and was highly controversial, a theme she continued in her next two films in 2002, the controversy, over explicit sex scenes. So far she has appeared in twenty-eight television shows and movies all over the world, notably, except in Hollywood.
