Kelly Rowland was born on the 11th February 1981 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. She is a R&B singer, songwriter, dancer and actress who rose to fame as one of the founding members of the successful R&B girl group Destiny's Child, one of the best-selling female bands of all time, according to the World Music Awards and SonyBMG. After a series of commercially successful releases with the group and a worldwide number-one success with rapper Nelly and their Grammy-winning single Dilemma she released her debut solo album Simply Deep in 2002. The album became a commercial success, eventually selling more than 2.5 million copies worldwide, and garnered three more or less successful singles. Her often-delayed second album, Ms. Kelly was released in June 2007 in Europe and in early July in the USA. So far, the album has spawned the top 5 single Like This, collaboration with rapper Eve, as well as the Snoop-Dogg collaboration Ghetto and the international single Work. With the upcoming 2008 re-release of Ms. Kelly she is set to release a new single. While maintaining a recording career she has also gained fame for starring in several film and television productions.
