Who is Katja Schuurman?

Katja Schuurman was born on the 19th February 1975 in Utrecht, Netherlands. She is a television and film actress and singer. She made her acting debut in 1992 on the television series Uit de School Geklapt. Her big break came two years later when she appeared in Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden. With two other characters from this RTL soap she formed the spin off all girl group, Linda, Roos & Jessica (LRJ). Their debut single "Ademnood" (English version: "Turn Your Love Around'") topped the Dutch charts late 1995. LRJ went their separate ways in 1999. Although Katja released a few solo singles she decided that she lacks the discipline to be a singer. In 2000 Katja played Frida in the Salou-based movie Costa! and found herself reunited with Georgina Verbaan. Costa! premiered in 2001 and was successful enough to be converted into a television series. Both Schuurman and Verbaan left after two seasons. Katja went on to host programs for BNN alongside Bridget Maasland, as a farewell present they made Katja vs. Bridget, a Battle of the Babes-type series that saw the latter taking the upper hand. A year later the formula was repeated for Katja vs. de Rest, replacing Bridget with other Dutch celebrities.
