Josie Maran was born Johanna Selhorst Maran on the 8th May 1978 in Menlo Park, San Francisco, California, USA. She is a super model and actress. She attended an all girls school in Palo Alto, California. Her first cover was Glamour in 1998. She has an appendectomy scar that is air brushed out from most photo shoots. As those in the fashion industry consider her height of 5'7" to be too short for runway modelling, Maran works mainly in editorial modelling and advertising/image modelling. After building a resume of over 25 commercials and advertisements, including a music video, she moved cross-country to join with Elite in New York. In 1999, she landed a multi-year deal with Maybelline. Josie appeared in the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition three years in a row, 2000 to 2002. She made her film debut in an independent bomb in 2001, then another failure in 2002, but in 2004 she was in three films, her roles were , a French model in Little Black Book, as one of Dracula's brides in Van Helsing, and briefly as a cigarette girl in The Aviator. In June 2007, Josie Maran launched her own cosmetics product line, named Josie Maran Cosmetics. In August 2007 ABC announced Josie would compete on Dancing with the Stars. Her partner was Alec Mazo and they were the first couple eliminated.
