Joely Richardson was born on the 9th January 1965 in London, England. She is an actress and the closest thing the performing community has to royalty. Richardson is the daughter of actress Vanessa Redgrave and late director Tony Richardson, the granddaughter of Sir Michael Redgrave and Rachel Kempson, Lady Redgrave, sister of actress Natasha Richardson, and sister-in-law of actor Liam Neeson, and niece of Lynn Redgrave and Corin Redgrave. Joely appeared as an extra at the age of three in the 1968 version of The Charge of the Light Brigade directed by her father. Her movie credits are extensive but include movies like, The Patriot opposite Mel Gibson and the Disney classic, 101 Dalmatians opposite Glen Close, she was the lead actor in the 2005 movie, Lies My Mother Told Me. She is currently in her fifth season on the television show, Nip/Tuck, appearing with her mother (as her mother) Vanessa Redgrave in a few episodes, though she has cut back her commitments to care for her sick daughter, Daisy, who was born in 1992. She has been married once, to Daisy's father, Tim Bevan, they divorced in 2002.
