Jessica Simpson was born on the 10th July 1980, in Abilene, Texas, USA. She is a pop singer and actress who became famous in the late 1990's. Her main rung on the fame ladder was achieved with the reality TV show, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. She starred with her then husband Nick Lachey. Since then she has achieved seven Billboard top 40 hits, and has three gold and two multi-platinum albums. She is the older sister of Ashlee Simpson, a pop rock singer. On the 30th May 2004, Jessica was chosen to sing the National Anthem at the Indianapolis 500. Later that year, she won three Teen Choice Awards: Female Fashion Icon, Choice Hottie Female, and Female Reality/Variety TV Star for Newlyweds. In 2005, at age 25, Jessica made the leap into films with the remake of the Dukes of Hazard as Daisy Duke. The film was number one at the box office it's opening weekend, taking $30.7million in two days. Jessica was also on the film's soundtrack, releasing "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'", a cover of the 1966 hit. The song peaked at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 and won a People's Choice Award for favourite song from a movie. Her marriage to Lachey lasted for three years, in an interview about the divorce she told the whole world that she had been a virgin when she married.
