Who is Jessica Alba?

Jessica Alba was born on the 28th April 1981 in Pomona, California, USA. She is an actress who’s best know for her role in the television show Dark Angel. She has one brother, Joshua, also an actor, who appeared with her in the season one finale of Dark Angel. Jessica's childhood was marred by her frailty, she suffered collapsed lungs twice, had many bouts of pneumonia, a burst appendix, and a cyst on her tonsils. Due to spending a lot of time in hospital, she was an isolated child because she never spent enough time with other children to make friends. She has also acknowledged suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder and suffers panic attacks. Her physical health improved as she grew older. As a child, she managed to appear in two TV commercials, one for Nintendo and the other for J.C. Penny. Her first big break, after doing a couple of independent films that bombed, was as Maya in the TV show Flipper, which was filmed in Australia. She auditioned, along with 1200 others, for James Cameron for the lead in Dark Angel in 2002, and she got the part. She was on the cover of Playboy in March 2006 but initiated a lawsuit as the shot was taken for a movie promotion and Playboy didn't have permission to use it, she got a personal apology from Hugh Hefner and donations to her two favourite charities.
