Jeanne Tripplehorn was born on the 10th June 1963 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. She is an actress. Her father was Tom Tripplehorn (known as Tommy Tripplehorn), who was once a guitarist with Gary Lewis & The Playboys. After graduating high school, Tommy got her an interview to become a D.J. at Tulsa radio station KMOD, she got the job and using the air name, became Jeanie Summers for a short time. She was stage-trained as an actress (at Juilliard) and also served as a TV host. She became well know for starring opposite Michael Douglas in Basic Instinct and Kevin Costner in Waterworld. Her best known role was alongside Tom Cruise in The Firm. She more recently appeared in the HBO drama Big Love. On 10th September 2007, on the BBC1 television program Movie Connections, it was confirmed that she had accepted the co-lead role in Four Weddings and A Funeral. Just before flying to England to start filming, tragedy struck when her mother suddenly died. The role subsequently went to Andie MacDowell. She is married to actor Leland Orser, the couple have a son, August, born in 2002.
