Jacinda Barrett is originally from Australia where she was born on August 2, 1972. Despite her Aussie beginnings, the actress appears to be American, without an accent, in the Hollywood movies she has acted in. Originally, Barrett worked as an international model, beginning at the age of seventeen when she left her hometown of Brisbane. Her first television role was on The Real World, London version, in 1995, and she quickly moved on to act in other programs like Night Man, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Wind on Water and Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane. She made the move from small screen to the big screen in 1997 with her role as Heather Wallace in Campfire Tales. Barrett then moved on to act in Immaculate Springs, Art House, and 24-Seven, all between 1997 and 1999. In 2000, she starred in Urban Legends: Final Cut, the third in a series of teen horror flicks and then disappeared from view for three years. Her reappearance was in The Human Stain in 2003. She continued in the movie business with films like Ladder 49, The Last Kiss, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, Ripley Underground and School for Scoundrels. Her most recent movie, which came out in 2007, is titled The Namesake.
