Izabella Scorupco was born June 4, 1970 in Bialystok, Poland. At the tender age of eight, Scorupco moved to Sweden with her mother, where she learned to speak English and Swedish in addition to her mother tongue, Polish. As a young girl, she worked as a model until Staffan Hildebrand, a movie director, found her and offered her a part in his film Ingen kan alska som vi (nobody loves like us). From her first taste of the acting business, Izabella was hooked though she didn’t move forward in her acting career for another several years. Instead, the young woman focused on music and brought out a number of singles, including Shame, Shame, Shame, which made it to the number two spot on the charts in Norway. She also sang I Write You a Love Song, Brando Movies and Substitute. Her album, Iza, came out in 1991, but never made it big and she went on to acting instead. Her acting career was revived in 1995 with her being cast as a Bond Girl in James Bond, GoldenEye. Four years later, she appeared in With Fire and Sword, then Vertical Limit and Reign of Fire as well as the Exorcist: The Beginning.
