Isabella Rossellini?s full name is Isabella Fiorella Elettra Giovanna Rossellini, quite the mouthful for a baby who was born June 18, 1952 in Rome Italy. Her parents were quite famous, which may have given her a headstart, with her mother being actress Ingrid Bergman and her father a director, Roberto Rossellini. Despite suffering multiple surgeries due to scoliosis at age thirteen, Rossellini went on to become a model, though not until she was older than most, twenty-eight. Before modelling, the young Italian worked as a translator in New York and as a television reporter. She married Martin Scorcese and later had a daughter, Elettra, with second husband, Jon Weidemann. Her first modelling job was being photographed for Vogue magazine. After that, she began to model in earnest. She worked as the spokesperson for Lancome cosmetics and continued in this position for the next 14 years until she grew too old for the job. During this time, she appeared with her mother in a film called A Matter of Time, then she moved on to do an Italian film, Il Prato, before launching her Hollywood career. Other movies in her resume include Death Becomes Her and Blue Velvet. She has also written 3 books.
