Iran Castillo was born Iran Castillo Pinzon January 4, 1977 in Veracruz, Mexico. She started acting early, finding roles in commercials at the age of seven and when she was twelve, she began to take acting classes. That same year, she landed a part in the telenovela (soap opera) Angeles blancos. In total, Castillo has appeared in 12 soap operas, including El Club de Gaby, Sonadores, Preciosa, Que Chavas, and Agujetas el Color de Rosa. Her acting career was far from limited to soap operas, however. Castillo has also taken parts in several theatre plays such as Vaselina and Gypsy: A Musical Fable. In addition to telanovelas and the stage, this talented actress appeared in a variety of movies, most of which are still in post-production. She was the Spanish voice for Jessie in the Latino version of Toy Story 2 and was in the horror flick Que Vivan Los Muertos, as well as El Tigre de Santa Lucia and Efectos Secundarios. Movies that are scheduled to come out shortly include La Cuidad Perdida (The Lost City), Chiles Xalapenos and Viernes de Animas. Her current movie, El Secuestro, is still filming at the time this is written. She has also released two albums, Tiempos Nuevos in 1997 and Tatuado en Tus Besos in 1999.
