Ines Sastre was born on November 21, 1973 in Valladolid, Spain and her career as an actress began when she was just 12 years old, when she was given a part in a McDonald?s ad. She later appeared in the film El Dorado in 1987. Two years later, the young actress had the chance to become a model when she won the Look of the Year award from Elite Modelling Agency, but Sastre decided to continue with school instead of becoming a model at that time. She went on to study in France and is fluent in four languages, English, French, Italian, and, of course, Spanish. In 1990, she appeared in Fuga dal Paradiso and in 1995, she took roles in several movies, of which only Sabrina was well-known in the U.S. The others were foreign language films, including Faire un film pour moi c?est vivre, a documentary, and Par-dela les nuages. A year later, she became the spokesperson for Tresor, a Lancome perfume. In addition to her film career (which also includes more recent films like The Lost City), Sastre has also graced the covers of many magazines, among them Marie Claire, Woman, Cosmopolitan, Femme and Rolling Stone. She is also a UNICEF ambassador and has worked with UNESCO, too.
