Heather Locklear is a natural blonde Californian, born in Westwood on September 25, 1961. W studying in UCLA, Locklear did some modelling work for the school shop, to earn extra money. She also acted in several commercials for UCLA products and in 1979, moved on to take a small role in a made-for-television movie, then in CHiPs. After this, she was offered a place in the cast of Dynasty, a popular soap opera at the time. She did so well in the part that Aaron Spelling, producer of Dynasty, cast her in his 1982 show T.J. Hooker, along with William Shatner. Locklear took the job on and worked both shows for the remainder of the decade, acting also in several movies. These early movies included Firestarter (with up and comer Drew Barrymore), The Return of the Swamp Thing, and a variety of television specials. Moving into the 90?s, Locklear took on the role of Amanda Woodward in another popular soap opera, Melrose Place, which landed her a Best Actress Award from First Americans in the Arts. During the 1990?s, she also did a number of films, including Money Talks, First Wives Club and Double Tap. Her success didn?t end there. In 1999, when she left Melrose Place, Locklear was cast in Spin City, then LAX. She continues to appear in a variety of films, too.
