Heather Graham was born on January 29, 1970 to Jim and Joan Graham in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. While studying at the University of California at Los Angeles, Graham met James Woods, a popular actor at that time. They hooked up and she found herself acting in a movie of his, Diggstown. She enjoyed acting so much that she dropped out of university to do it full time, much to her family?s disappointment. She worked as a waitress, among other things, while waiting for small roles in movies such as Drugstore Cowboy to come along. Finally, 1991, she was cast in the television series Twin Peaks and had some steady work. In 1997, Graham took on the role of a roller-skating porn star alongside Mark Wahlberg in Boogie Nights and finally caught the attention of the general public. She was nominated for several awards thanks to her role in the movie. The young actress moved on star in several more movies including Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and From Hell, in 2001. During this time period, she also appeared in American Woman, a Lenny Kravitz music video. In more recent projects, Graham made guest appearances on shows such as Scrubs, Sex in the City, and was scheduled to do a sitcom, Emily?s Reasons Why Not, but it was cancelled by ABC.
