Goldie Hawn, born November 21, 1941, had a long running career as a successful comedic actress. She began with television, appearing first on an obscure sitcom in 1967, Good Morning, World, where she played a stereotypical blonde. When the show was cancelled after just one season, Hawn moved on to become a regular on Rowan and Martin?s Laugh In. This show brought her so much fame that she was cast in several movies within the next few years, including There?s a Girl in My Soup and Cactus Flower, which won her an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress. In the 1970?s and 1980?s, Hawn continued to act in films and followed a wildly successful career that involved working with several famous actors, including Mel Gibson in Bird on a Wire. Other hits from this time period included Overboard, Best Friends and Private Benjamin, with the latter earning her an Academy Award Best Lead Actress Nomination. Hawn?s career took a dive in the late 80?s and she made a mini comeback with the film Death Becomes Her in 1992, then again in 1996 with The First Wives Club, in both, she played an aging actress. She expanded into directing Hope, a television movie, and wrote an autobiography that was released in 2005, A Lotus Grows in the Mud.
