Who is Geri Halliwell?

Geri Halliwell was born Geraldine Estelle Halliwell on the 6th August 1972, she is a pop singer, songwriter, television personality, writer and actress. She became famous as Ginger Spice (the press liked to call her Sexy Spice) as a member of the all girl group, The Spice Girls in the 1990's. She grew up in Watford, Hertfordshire, England as a Jehovah's Witness. Before starting her music career, Geri had worked as a nightclub dancer, a model and presenter on Turkish television and as a nude model. Following the rise to fame with the Spice Girls, the nude photos of Halliwell were re-published in a number of top-shelf British magazines. After the Spice girls she went solo and was nominated three times for a Brit Award and sold over four million albums. Shortly before launching her solo career, Halliwell appeared in the fly on the wall documentary Geri, a movie length piece for the UK television. Since going solo she has put out three albums, all of which were hits in the UK but not in the market she wanted to succeed in, the USA, the first solo album, Schizophonic, only reached number forty-two on the charts. The second and third albums were flops of increasing magnitude. In 2003 there was a rumoured reunion of the Spice Girls but it never happened, in 2008 the reunion will happen and the group will tour again.
