Who is Gabrielle Reece?

Gabrielle Reece was born 6th January 1970 in San Jolle, California. She is an American professional volleyball player, fashion model and sports presenter. Reece stands an impressive 6 ft 3 inches or 190.5cm tall and she wears a size 11 shoe, according to her co-authored book "Big Girl in the Middle". Her stature is genetic, from her maternal side, her mother is 6 ft 2 inches tall. In high school, Gabrielle excelled at basketball and played volleyball on the side. However she then accepted a scholarship to Florida State University as a volleyball player, she majored in communications. While at university she led the league four times in kills and once in blocks. It was also while at university that she began modelling. After graduation everyone thought she would become a full time model, since she was rapidly gaining fame, in 1989 Elle magazine named her as one of the five most beautiful women in the world. Instead she signed to go onto the full time professional volleyball tours. In 1997, competing with the best global beach volleyball players ever assembled, Gabrielle's 4-person team took first place at the first-ever Beach Volleyball World Championships staged at UCLA. In November 1997 she married surfer Laird Hamilton and they have one child together, daughter Reece Viola Hamilton, was born in October 2003.
