Francesca Neri was born in Trento, Italy on 10th February 1964. She has won the Silver Ribbon Award for Best Actress twice and been nominated for Italian Films Oscar on two occasions, one for best actress and one for best supporting actress. As well as making films in Italy she has made three films in Spain, the first was dubbed into Spanish, the last two speaking Spanish herself, she gathered a lot of critical acclaim for these three movies. In 2001 she made her first appearance in a Hollywood blockbuster, "Hannibal", which was a huge success and ensured she would get a lot more offers to make movies in the US. In 2002 she played alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in "Collateral Damage", another successful movie. Since then she has returned to Italy and continued making movies, a lot of movies, more than one a year, most of which are now being released with English titles for the American market. As well as movie work she has dabbled in television, hosting the show "Francamente me ne infischio" in 1999. The main reason she has returned to making movies in Europe (or so it seems to the press) is her son, Rocco and her partner, actor Claudio Amendola, though she has never commented on these stories.
