Frances O'Connor was born 12th June 1969 in Wantage, Oxfordshire, England but moved to Perth, Western Australia when she was two. O'Connor was raised in a strict Roman Catholic household, she attend a convent school in Perth. She went the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts but also obtained a BA in Literature from Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Western Australia. Today she considers Melbourne, Victoria to be her home. Her partner is Gerald Lepkowski and she gave birth to their first child, Luka, in 2005. Her career began in 1993 in the TV series "Law of the Land", since then she has appeared in over twenty films and television shows. On her credits are listed movies like, "Artificial Intelligence: AI", "Kiss or Kill", "Love and Other Catastrophes", "Bedazzled", "Windtalkers", "Ion Jawed Angels" and "Book of Love". She had regular parts on Australian television in "Blue Heelers", "The Panel" and "Frontline". Another role she is well known for was in the TV mini-series "The Man From Snowy River (1995)", often said to be the quintessential Australian period drama. If asked O'Connor says she is a "performer" not an actor or comedian.
