Famke Janssen was born Famke Beumer Janssen on the 5th of November, 1965, in Amstelveen, The Netherlands. She is a former fashion model turned actress. As a child she learnt to speak Dutch, English, German and French. In 1984, she moved to the United States and began modelling with Elite Model Management. She worked with Yves Saint Laurent and Victoria’s Secret, but unfortunately a car crash forced her to wear a neck brace for some time, stalling her career. She moved on to Los Angeles to begin acting instead. She is married writer/director Tod Culpan Williams in 1995, but they unfortunately divorced in 2000. She has appeared in Star Trek: The Next Generation, Fathers & Sons, Melrose Place, The Untouchables, and she was notably a Bond Girl “Xenia Zirgavna Onatopp” in GoldenEye in 1995. She was also in X-Men, Ally McBeal, Nip/Tuck, and The Possibility of Fireflies. Janssen is known for her large size 11 feet. Her shoes for GoldenEye had to be custom made to fit her, and she was teased in the 2000 film Love & Sex about the size of her feet.
