Faith Ford was born Faith Alexis Ford on the 14th of September, 1964, in Alexandria, Louisiana. She is a television and film actress, perhaps most notably for her role as Corky in Murphy Brown. Faith was raised in Pineville and acted in school plays. At seventeen years old, she moved to New York and began modelling. Her first major acting gig was when she took over Kyra Sedgwick’s role on Another World as Julia Shearer. When she moved to Hollywood, she eventually gained her role on Murphy Brown, and remained with the show for it’s nine year stint. Faith then had to rely on television movies to earn her crust, until in 1998 she was the executive producer on her own sitcom Maggie Winters. In 1989, Faith married Robert Nottingham. They divorced in 1996. In 1998, she married Campion Murphy, a personal trainer and screen writer. Faith and her husband produced a short film called Citation of Merit which they entered in festivals across the States. She then starred with Kelly Ripa in her sitcom Hope & Faith about a failed Hollywood actress moving in with her sister’s family. The sitcom ran for three seasons before being cancelled, and Faith has since published her own cookbook.
