Who is Eva Longoria?

Eva Longoria was born Eva Jacqueline Longoria on the 15th of March, 1975, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She is best known for playing devilish Gabrielle Solis on the smash hit Desperate Housewives. Her parents are Mexican-American farmers, and Longoria was often poor. She was nicknamed la prieta fea by her siblings – “The Ugly Dark One”. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, and at the same time, won Miss Corpus Christi in 1998. When she graduated, she entered a talent contest and went on to Los Angeles where she signed with a theatrical agent. Her first television role was in 2000 in Beverly Hills, 90210. She appeared on General Hospital, and then landed the role of Isabella Brana Williams on The Young and the Restless. She played that role from 2001 to 2003. It was in 2004 that she landed the bomb – her role on Desperate Housewives. She has been nominated for a Golden Globe for that role. She has also appeared in The Sentinel with Kiefer Sutherland and Michael Douglas. She was ranked as Maxim’s number 1 Hottest Female Star in both 2005 and 2006, and she dropped to number 9 in 2007. She has most recently been seen in Harsh Times with Christian Bale. Longoria swore black and blue that she would not renew her Desperate Housewives contract, but she did just that in 2007 for four more years. Longoria was married to General Hospital co-star Tyler Christopher from 2002 to 2004. In 2006, she became engaged to sports star Tony Parker. They married in 2007, and she is now credited as Eva Longoria Parker.
