Emma Watson was born Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson on the 15th of April, 1990, in Paris, France. Her parents are lawyers who are now divorced. Since she was young she had professed a desire to act, and she starred in many school plays. In 1999, casting began for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Emma’s theatre teacher passed her name on to the casting agents involved, and after eight auditions with them, Emma landed the role of Hermione Granger. She was just eleven years old when the film was released. It was a smash hit, and Emma often garnered much praise for her work. The following year she appeared in the follow up Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. During the filming of both films, Emma lost some baby teeth and had to wear dentures to maintain continuity. Two years on in 2004, the third instalment Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was released. Emma was happier with her role. She appeared in the fourth instalment in 2005, and she was the youngest person to grace the cover of Teen Vogue magazine that year. In 2007 she appeared in the fifth instalment, and she will appear in the sixth and seventh instalments as well. She has a net wealth of 10 million pounds, and never needs to work again, yet this spritely lass refuses to leave school as she wants to maintain a “normal life”.
