Emma De Caunes was born on the 9th of September, 1976, in Paris, France. She works as an actress in her home country of France. She is the daughter of actor/director Antoine de Caunes, and of director/graphic designer Gaelle Royer. De Caunes married a French singer with the stage name Sinclair (his real name is Mathieu Blanc-Francard). They had a daughter together in October 2002. She was born in Paris and they named her Nina. De Caunes’ godmother offered her her first role back in 1986. She went on to gain her Baccalaureate in Film in 1995. She has appeared in many advertisements, and gained our attention when she landed the film role in Un Frere, directed by Sylvie Verheyde. She won the Most Promising Actress for that role in the 1998 Cesar Awards, and Best Actress in the 1997 Paris Film Festival. In 2002, she won the Prix Romy-Schneider, given annually to the actress showing the most promise. However, her career hasn’t quite taken off as expected. She has appeared in The Science of Sleep with Charlotte Gainsburgh, and Mr Bean’s Holiday as Sabine.
