Emily Procter was born on October 8th, 1968 in Raleigh North, Carolina. Her first television credentials actually come from the unlikely start of being a weather anchor on a local North Carolina station called WCNC-TV. However, real public attention has come her way acting in recurring roles on two enormously popular hour long dramas, and also by appearing as minor characters in huge hit (or at least widely released) movies. Many fans recognize her as Ainsley Hayes on NBCs The West Wing. The fictionalized world of an ideal White House filled with a President with a strong -- and progressive leaning -- moral centre won 9 Emmys in its first season alone, and went on to win many prestigious awards including a Golden Globe for the shows star, Martin Sheen in 2001. The character Ainsley Hayes offered the White House staff a young Republican counterbalance when she was hired as the Associate and later Deputy White House Counsel at the direction of Sheens President Bartlett. Its an idealized White House where even political partisanship cant get in the way of good government, after all. Actress Procter’s second hit is as ballistics specialist Calleigh Duquesne in CSI: Miami. Small roles in widely released films have included 1996s Jerry Maguire.
