Emilie de Ravin was born the 27th of December, 1981 in Mount Eliza, Victoria, Australia. The actress achieved enormous exposure by starring as Claire Littleton on the enormously successful drama Lost, about survivors of an airplane crash stranded on a mysterious island. The show has kept fans bursting with their own conspiracy theories due to the unprecedented twisting and turning storylines, surprise survivors, and underlying relationships between the cast. De Ravin’s character Claire begins with a very dramatic storyline as a young woman who has a false pregnancy. One man who comes to her rescue is the primary character Dr. Jack Shephard. What neither character yet knows is they are half-brother and sister, sharing a father of whom Claire only has but one early memory— a lullaby he used to sing to her. The entire cast won a Screen Actors Guild Award in 2006 for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. The actress de Ravin has had other success in genre movies and television such as her role as the lead character in the horror movie The Hills Have Eyes (2006), and her portrayal of an interbred human-alien in the television series Roswell (1999-2002).
