Elizabeth Perkins was born on the 18th of November, 1960 in Queens, New York, and raised in Vermont. She is an Emmy, SAG, Satellite and Golden Globe nominated actress who works in film, t.v. and theatre. Although she claims she was not as academically inclined or staightlaced as her sisters, she received formal acting training from a three year stint at Chicago’s prestigious conservatory, the Goodman School of Drama. Two impressive debuts followed, her theatrical debut was on Broadway in Neil Simons Brighton Beach Memoirs. This was soon followed by a film role as Demi Moore’s friend in the dating world in Edward Zwicks About Last Night which co-starred Rob Lowe. Perkins talent, and striking dark, curly locks framing both a flawless complexion and an appealing every girl face with lurking mystery made her a regular bit player as the friend to the lead in several Brat Pack movies in the 1980s. Numerous film roles followed in the next decades. A recent pairing with fellow former 1980s leading girl-next-door with an edge, Mary-Louise Parker, resulted in Showtime’s highest rated new show of 2005, Weeds. This series finds the 45 year old Perkins all grown up, blonder, a president of the PTA and a barrier to Mary-Louise Parkers down on her luck divorcee forced to sell marijuana to make ends meet. The role has given Perkins accolades from nearly all eligible awards including 2 Golden Globe nominations.
